    Situation

We have established a range of activities with schools which we see developing into a multi-layered package of options for teachers, governors and PTAs. We would provide a choice of curriculum-linked workshops, assemblies, fact sheets and eco packs which can be built into a combined package. Included in this is an exhibition vehicle - Light Fantastic, complete with interactive games and informative graphics and giveaway items such as low energy lightbulbs. All UK schools now have 8 gateways to sustainability Food & Drink; Energy & Water; Travel & Traffic; Purchasing & Waste; Buildings & Grounds; Inclusion & Participation; Local Wellbeing and Global Dimension with the targets to be met by 2020. MEA could provide professional development for teaching staff to improve their subject knowledge as well as guidance on the existing resources and schemes currently available in the UK. MEA would like to be able to make this service available to Schools in the West Midlands.
