Do you support liberty, freedom, democracy and human rights worldwide, and want to have a creative input in supporting the fight for such values? If so, we need your help in taking our charity and think-tank to the next level. We seek a dialogue, not a hand-out, and believe that our track record is worthy of your consideration. Having achieved as much as we have to date with so little, imagine what we could achieve with a real resource base. We feel confident that our success shows that any investment you choose to make in us will be repaid at a much greater rate of return through our future programme. See our existing programme at www.henryjacksonsociety.org.

    Situation

HJS currently runs an active website, regular mail-outs, a speaker and conference programme, a campaigns base, and has even published a book on British foreign policy (The British Moment, available on Amazon). All this has been achieved through the efforts of a dedicated team of volunteers, who have supported the cause without any remuneration. Proud as we are of this ability to promote a programme on limited resources and with no paid members of staff, we recognise that an increased presence will now be required in order to progress our agenda and to generate additional momentum. This will encompass: * A fixed HJS central London headquarters and paid staff. * Membership scheme to encourage public support for our objectives. * Three set-piece annual lectures with internationally renowned speakers detailing Western foreign policy direction or highlighting particular areas for action. * Three annual conferences examining international issues. * Monthly Parliamentary round-table discussions with expert speakers. * Weekly HJS Position Papers/Editorials/Memorandums to be circulated to policy makers and opinion formers on matters in the news. * Structured and fully researched campaigns designed to educate the general public on democracy-related issues, elicit a response from opinion formers and provoke action from policy makers (e.g. Israel’s right to peace with security; the need for greater defence expenditure). * The launch of a bi-annual journal/magazine (in the style of the Council on Foreign Relations’ Foreign Affairs) on foreign policy issues. * Publication of at least one book on the strategic challenges facing Western foreign policy. * Publication of an Annual Report on activities, campaigns and programme for circulation to supporters and interested parties. * Building links with like-minded organisations in Europe to ensure a united approach to the defence of democracy and liberty within the EU. If you therefore consider it important to foster an Atlanticist, and freedom- and democracy-supporting organisation in a part of the world where support for such concepts is under threat and needs bolstering, HJS would welcome your help in expanding our operations to meet these goals. In return, we can offer immediate input into the foreign policy process in Britain and beyond and a chance to help shape the international affairs agenda worldwide. Proposed budget for the above programme available on request and we are happy to meet and discuss our ideas with you at a time of your choosing.
