    Situation

Young people with Asperger Syndrome experience all of the issues that a typical teenager experiences with the added pressure of finding social relationships and understanding non-explicit information very difficult. Aspire works with adults with Asperger Syndrome by providing mentoring, peer groups and social activities. The guide would give the kind of information that a mentor or friend may provide, as many people with Asperger Syndrome have very limited social networks and are vulnerable to isolation, depression, anxiety and exploitation. It will be written and presented in an AS accessible format and be freely available. The estimated cost for the production of the guide and establishing the online resource would be in the region of £15K.
