    Situation

ASpire recruits and trains volunteer mentors to work 1:1 with adults with Asperger Syndrome and social skills issues in Brighton and Hove. Those with Asperger Syndrome typically experience isolation, mental health issues (anxiety and depression) and low employability. Aspire works with the individual in providing long-term support to help with the achievement of goals - whether related to work, living skills, socialising or any other aspect of life. Social groups, activities and peer groups and also available to project users. Aspire Training provides high quality awareness training to organisations (education, employment and support), families and anyone affected by Asperger Syndrome. The project would like additional funding to secure the long-term future of the project and to employ a project worker to increase capacity - we have a waiting list of users waiting to access our services. Running costs for two workers to support up to 50 service users are in the region of £50k pa. Thank you for your time.
