    Situation

The Pabulum Cafe, based on a variation of the Dutch Alzheimer's Cafe, enables those involved with people living with dementia and their carers to maintain self sufficiency, independence and well-being. Cafes are running in Diss, New Costessey and Wymondham. For people living with dementia and their carers the issues commonly highlighted are loneliness, isolation and a lack of opportunities to speak to others in similar situations to themselves. The Cafe will establish links and work closely with a range of professionals, voluntary and community groups to design a programme of activities to provide: - information and advice from Age Concern Norfolk's Advice & Advocacy Teams - a programme of social and reminiscence activities for those involved - support for carers, training sessions and specific information events - talks and presentations with external speakers and organisations
