Situation
At Pilgrims Hospices we have a strict no mixed wards policy. We have four bays of four beds and just two single rooms. There are times when we cannot admit patients because we have a female patient in a bay of four beds, our two single rooms are occupied and we have male patients waiting for a bed. If we can convert a bay of four beds into two single rooms we will be able to: Improve patient care. Increase privacy and dignity. Prevent infection. Increase the number of patients we care for.
