The Haven Wolverhampton is seeking to raise funds to purchase a Children’s Minibus. The Minibus will be used to take children and their mothers on educational and enjoyable day trips across the country, as well as taking children safely to and from necessary appointments, homework clubs and other activities. The minibus will be used all year round and will support the development of external partnerships by enabling the uptake of activities (many of which are free) already taking place within the community. These activities not only offer a reprieve from refuge life but they provide an opportunity for children and mothers to bond with each other and prepare for life beyond The Haven. By raising awareness of existing community activities this will benefit children and mothers when resettled in the community as they can sustain activities. Our Children’s Minibus Appeal has so far brought in just under £3000 from public donations; however our target is £10,000 to ensure the vehicle meets health and safety and accessibility requirements. Additionally this cost covers insurance, MOT, breakdown cover and tax. If you can, please help us raise funds for this much needed appeal.
