    Situation

Eduplay Mobile Crèche Service currently delivers high quality childcare, through providing crèches in a variety of community-based venues, across Leeds. This is to complement a variety of learning, physical, mental and social health related activities and other community beneficial activities. It is an integral part of ensuring that such activities are successful and meet local community needs. The crèches provide either short term, long term or a one off service for a large number of children whose parents/ carers are attending the activities. Eduplay mobile crèche service was set up as a funded project within South Leeds Health for All, which is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee. This was to meet an identified need for flexible, mobile, high quality childcare in the LS10 and LS11 areas of Leeds. The organisation established a wide range of groups serving parents with young children but faced major difficulties in accessing high quality, flexible childcare in the community. Over the last five years demand has grown and we have increased our team of staff, sessional workers and volunteers. Our funding has been dramaitcally reduced and the service is now a thriving city wide social enterprise. Additinal funds would help us set up this pilot scheme to target a potential new market.
