Gateshead Citizens Advice Bureau to build a New Service Delivery Centre [NSDC] to provide a one stop shop to revolutionize service delivery with the primary aims of addressing accessibility for those most excluded, improving access to justice, and bringing organisations together to create a more sustainable effective way of working. We have raise over half the monies for the new build. We need donations to help us finish the work.

    Situation

A revolutionary new concept in not-for profit advice that will reach an unsurpassed level of accessibility, simplicity, quality and economy. The 'Gateshead CAB NSDC' will be a central located building providing integrated advice services and a self-help resource led by Gateshead CAB (CAB) with other advice organisations, targeting the disadvantaged. The building will form a co-ordination and technology centre for core services and our various outreach services providing online and other service links to advice for Gateshead area citizens. NSDC will be designed to provide advice matching the full range of identified need within our area at the location and in the form that makes it most accessible to those that need it. Gateshead CAB NSDC will provide a pathway for integrated advice services currently delivered from a multitude of settings and with a diversity of quality. Advice organisations currently rely on individuals and groups being pro active in seeking help which inevitably means those who are already marginalized by language barriers, disability, lack of transport etc being even more disadvantaged. We already deliver a wide range of advice services and our main topic areas relate to debt/money, benefits, employment, housing and relationship issues. However, our limited resources [our current cramped inaccessible building limits our service delivery and prevents any expansion of existing or innovation of new services] and lack of investment has made us aware that we could not only vastly improve our productivity, enhance services to clients by streamlining processes and joint working but also more effectively target the most disadvantaged by enabling those able to do so, to choose self-help routes. This is also an opportunity to control quality and promote more efficient work practices. A key driving force of this project is the fact that we have analyzed in depth the limitations of what we can offer and the result is that we need to fundamentally change our current accommodation and take the opportunity to improve the way we work and the way we offer our services.
