Brathay is committed to improving children and young people's well-being and to improving the outcomes they achieve in their lives. We would like to create a bursary fund to help those groups which, due to their financial situation, would not otherwise have the opportunity to benefit from Brathay's personal and social development training.

    Situation

Brathay Hall Trust - known as Brathay - works with children and young people to help them develop the skills and confidence they need to make positive choices in their lives. This could mean anything from helping young carers to feel less isolated and to value themselves more, to working with gang members to help them withdraw from involvement in gang culture and crime. The key to our work is that people learn by doing. Our programmes use outdoor and creative challenges to help young people discover their strengths and gain in confidence. They learn to work with others, to understand and appreciate people’s differences, and to take responsibility for their actions. Our work equips children and young people with the tools to change their own lives for the better. We would like to invite you to support our work by contributing to a bursary fund. Organisations such as small voluntary groups can struggle to pay for a Brathay programme. Often all they need is a small amount of funding, but they do not have the resources to fundraise for themselves: and, given the modest sums involved, it is not cost-effective for Brathay to do so on their behalf. A bursary fund - a general “pot” which can be used for any groups needing a small amount of funding - will be absolutely invaluable in enabling such work to go ahead.
