Aspire Mentoring provides dedicated on-going support to those experiencing substance misuse issues. Trained volunteers help drug and alcohol addicts, especially those with chaotic lifestyles, to access the services they need - including rehabilitation, housing and help interacting with services such as the Criminal Justice System and Social Services.

    Situation

Aspire Mentoring is unusually successful in seeing clients access, complete and stay clean following rehabilitation programmes. The reason for this is Aspire's highly relational approach - recognising that individuals with addictions and multiple needs need ongoing dedicated help and encouragement in order to access mainstream support services. The project's vision is to see lives transformed and for individuals to discover their full potential. Over fifty volunteer mentors are currently involved in delivering the service. Between them they supported over 130 individuals last year.
