Age Concern Leicester Shire & Rutland is seeking a donation of £500,000 to facilitate the setting up of a One Stop Resource Centre for Older People living in the Borough of Melton.

Age Concern already operates a number of One Stop Resource Centres for Older People, which bring together a wide range of support services provided by both the voluntary and public sectors. This provides an efficient and effective way for older people to receive the package of support services that they need, for example: information and advice, advocacy support, day care, home help and healthy living classes. These have proved to be so successful that we now plan to establish a One Stop Resource Centre for Older People in every major town in Leicestershire and Rutland. Age Concern has made excellent progress in Melton Mowbray by locating and purchasing a town centre property with the perfect potential for conversion. We now require funding of £500,000 to enable us to convert the premises into a One Stop Resource Centre for Older People in the Melton Borough area.
