Situation

Inactivity, obesity, limited access to high quality arts activities, increasing self esteem and confidence in children and working with children who do not have the opportunity to dance through financial or social disadvantage.

Solution

Since 2008 our project has provided over 1200 children, many of whom had not had access to dance, with a free-of-charge provision during school time and as an extended schools activity. Feedback from pupils included: “I love it when we make up our own dances.” “It is one of my favourite sports.” “It has inspired me to do more dancing.” “I get to be myself dancing.”
