The number of children and young people born with HIV or affected by a parent's or sibling's HIV+ status has grown significantly in recent years. There now is a gap in designated services in Bristol for children and young people who are living with HIV or who are affected by a family member's HIV+ status. Brigstowe has 13 years of experience in working with HIV+ adults and their families; now we want to extend our existing services and close this gap. We plan to do this in four stages and at a total cost of ca. £100,000:- Stage 1: Feasibility Study - cost: £10,000 - £15,000 Stage 2: One year pilot project - cost: £50,000 - £60,000 Stages 3 & 4: Evaluation of pilot project and further development of the service to ensure its sustainability - cost: £30,000
