    Situation

The project aims to work with the most disadvantaged members of the community in Blaenau Gwent. The project has been successful in working in Monmouthshire over the last 8 years and now wishes to develop into Blaenau Gwent. Homemakers works with those adults from disadvantaged backgrounds such as serving prisoners, mental health patience in attempt to help resettle these people back in the community along with the unemployed, the retired and those with learning difficulties. In 2008 a decision was made to look for premises to take the project into Blaenau Gwent. A costing exercise showed that £150,000 was needed to set the project up for the first two years. This included staffing, rent, vehicle purchase and equipment purchase. We have been successful in raising £40,000 to date to purchase a vehicle and equipment and now need help to raise the other £110,000 towards staffing and rent.
