London is a fascinating city, crowded with internationally renowned landmarks, superb architecture and artworks, and less well-known hidden gems. It is one of the most visited cities in the world, with provisions of every kind and variety for most visitors. There is, however, no single source that the blind or partially sighted visitor can access, where they can find holistic, cohesive descriptions and associated information about the city or its landmarks.

The descriptions will be web-based, downloadable free onto personal hand-held devices and fully accessible. Links will also be provided to sites where more information can be found. The descriptions will be designed specifically for blind and partially sighted people, but will have the added benefit of acting as “tasters” of these landmarks for sighted people. We will work closely with the visitor attractions and landmarks to identify their accessible services, as appropriate.
