Situation
Pastoralist communities who live in the East/Horn of Africa share & experience crosscutting problems/difficulties and are extremely marginalized from the political process. There is a need to play an informed & effective role in the design & implementation of policies that impact their lives. Pastoralist communities lack the advocacy skills necessary to inform policy makers of the rationale behind their livelihood systems & are unable to defend their interests in the face of gov’t priorities.
Solution
To enhance Pastoralist civil society capacities to identify and develop inter and intra-community conflict prevention mechanisms and promote equal opportunities for political participation.
