    Situation

Despite their size and presence, ethnic minorities in Georgia are underrepresented in decision-making processes & in all spheres of public life, especially government. There is little or no dialogue between policy makers & minority communities, policies developed by local authorities are therefore not based on the assessment of the conditions & needs of the stakeholders. Minority members are completely dependent on centralized & non inclusive TV coverage for news & information about politics.

    Solution

This project will allow minority communities to create and share their own news stories using the Internet and mobile phones to communicate independently of the state run TV and radio media. This will allow a pluralist & diverse content which is much more relevant to them. They will use it to carry out advocacy which will inform local decision makers about the needs and priorities of this community which will lead to more inclusive and better decisions and programmes.
