Targeted states contain ethnic, religious and linguistic minorities whose fundamental freedoms and human rights are abused. The specific problem that this programme will address is a lack of resources, lack of capacity within minority organisations and a lack of networks and joint efforts.

Situation
Generally, minority communities are poorer, face discrimination, have less power, influence, and are less able to access remedies. Minorities struggle to realise all types of human rights, civil and political, economic, social or cultural, as individuals or as groups. Organizational weaknesses are among the most pressing problems of our partner organizations, which constrains their effective dealing with minority rights issues.
Solution
This programme will strengthen the role of civil society in human rights through training and supported advocacy/campaign elements. The programme will support civil society to challenge discrimination on ethnic, religious, and linguistic grounds. We plan to continue our work with existing and new partner organisations, training them in organizational values and leadership, financial management, fundraising, networking, partnership management and strategic planning.
