    Situation

Building on our work with street youth and cameras Street to Street is about putting young people here in touch with young people in Sierra Leone. 3 UK schools are currently taking part, around 200 students and 6 street youth in Sierra Leone. A series of episodes following their stories have been posted online to the schools and UK students are asking questions from “does it hurt to sleep on the ground?” to “what happened to your family?” The idea is that it will break down barriers and give British students an insight into the issues of poverty and the barriers to getting out of it. Feedback from the schools so far has been really positive - 'that is absolutely awesome! Brilliant quality and feels more personal in a way and more real. Thank you for the background, it's all hugely helpful when talking through the films with the classes.‟ We want to expand the project to include more street youth in Sierra Leone and more schools in the UK. If you are interested in hearing more about the project, and funding future Streets to Streets projects within your schools, please get in contact, info@wayoutarts.org.
