Our vision is of a society where all children are loved, valued and able to fulfil their potential. Since we were founded in 1884, we have been able to take significant further steps to achieving this vision. However, sadly, there is still much work to be done before cruelty to children is a thing of the past. In partnership with our supporters, we really can make a difference to the lives of thousands of children and young people in the UK.

We need to deliver the biggest impact we can, but our limited resources are only a fraction of the government and voluntary sector’s budget for children. One of our key principles is to prioritise our work, concentrating on specific types of abuse and on children who are most at risk to ensure our intervention creates the greatest impact.
