There is a clear need for increasing funding for the voluntary sector. UK giving is still only about 25% of that in the US and it can be particularly hard for small charities and for social entrepreneurs to raise money for innovative approaches and particularly for core activities. In addition, donors and potential donors can find it difficult to evaluate different causes and organisations. TFN events are open to all and make philanthropy informed, accessible, engaging, and fun!

TFN events raise crucial funding for young charities. TFN keeps its own costs very low, but needs to cover staff and travel costs in order to support a variety of groups. Last year, with just 2 staff, 6 corporate partners and 50 volunteers, TFN groups in London, Oxford, Bristol, Leeds and Toronto helped 713 people at 17 events to raise £566k for 77 charities. This project will create new groups to reach a total of 800 attendees and raise £815k for 75 projects and 35,000 beneficiaries.
