The poverty rate is significant and increasing in the Middle and South Governorates of Gaza, after years of the effect of the blockade, and protracted violence on the whole of Gaza, which has caused mass unemployment and crippled the economy. Marginalized rural families have been particularly affected and have few income opportunities other than agriculture. Their food security has been threatened since they cannot purchase the full amount of needed food.

Training will be implemented for the farmers in environmental awareness and techniques such as pest control and water management. Programme Goal: To maximize existing resources to provide minimum food security to rural marginalised families. Objectives: To rebuild agricultural infrastructure for 51 rural families to increase their food self-sufficiency, specifically home gardens and small domestic farms, for primarily female-headed families.
