    Situation

    The Baytree Centre is located in Lambeth, one of the most deprived boroughs in the country. Those accessing the centre face multiple barriers to inclusion which are identified by the women and girls as lack of English language skills; lack of opportunities to learn in culturally appropriate settings; inability to access employment opportunities; poverty; poor housing; isolation; depression; racism and discrimination; abusive homes; family breakdown and a lack of family support and structure.

    Solution

    Our services focus on social; educational; training; employment; health and support measures in order to promote confidence and self esteem leading to enhanced aspirations, community cohesion and cultural harmony. All our programmes are flexible, tailoring services to the individual needs of users. 1-1 mentoring is offered to all our clients encouraging positive choices, promoting high self-esteem, supports academic achievement, and introduces the individual to new ideas.
