Founded in 1979, English Touring Opera occupies a unique place in British opera, touring to more venues than any other UK opera company. Committed to bringing vibrant, innovative high quality opera to new and existing audiences, we currently give almost 100 performances a year to approximately 40,000 audience members throughout the country. Our artistic legacy is to present lesser-known and undiscovered gems alongside some of opera’s best-loved classics in areas with little or no access to professional opera.
