    Situation

AIS Soccer Schools provide over 750 children across the UK attractive football coaching and playing programmes and often opportunities to learn about the Christian faith, on holiday courses between 2 and 5 days long. Currently running around 20 Soccer Schools a year, we want to impact 1000 kids; having funding to run 25 a year. Soccer Schools are often run in places of deprivation, where the low cost of the Soccer Schools, quality of coaching and encouragement received will make a big difference to the youngsters involved. A typical day would have football skills sessions in the morning, a “Bible Time” giving opportunity for kids to explore the Christian faith drawing parallels with football, lunch, assembly and fun games, “World Cup” tournaments and then presentations (including T-shirts, balls and certificates for the kids). The Soccer Schools are run by a combination of Ambassadors’ staff and volunteers, some expenses being claimed from Club’s/churches hosting the event and children’s registration fees. The more funding we are able to get, the lower the price we can set for the children and therefore more kids will be able to benefit from our services. The annual costs of running the current Soccer Schools is just under £30,000. (£1500 trophies, £4000 T-shirts, £5000 footballs, £700 printing, £1500 equipment, £3000 travel, £100 training and Project Director salary £12,200). In order to run another 5 Soccer Schools this will take the total project costs to £37,500.
