    Situation

The Climate Change Challenge is a groundbreaking project developed and piloted by the Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE). Working with the UK Youth Parliament, CSE will support a core group of dedicated youth MPs from each region of England, along with the devolved administrations of Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. These Members of the Youth Parliament (MYPs) will assess the policies and actions that their local and regional governments/devolved administrations are using to tackle the causes of climate change, and will use their findings to negotiate for tangible changes in policy in their area. Following a period of supported research, MYPs will engage in round-table discussions with their local authorities and regional government offices/devolved administrations. These discussions will be designed to draw out pledges on action, which will be followed by a high-profile national conference where each local group can present their research and the results they have achieved.
