Situation
We continue to explore further opportunities for data publication that will enrich public understanding, and we have determined that there is much mileage in providing an accessible view of the UK electricity market data. While there is currently available some valuable material from electricity industry websites, it represents a snapshot in time, is difficult for the layman to understand and is not searchable.
Solution
Having this data available on REF’s website will have the effect of putting REF’s work on renewables into the necessary context of the overall system. This project would also be a step towards putting pressure on the UK electricity market to become much more transparent.
