StAnza is a multi-faceted celebration of poetry which engages with the form through different varieties of staged and intimate readings and performances, enabling appreciation and appraisal of contemporary and past poetry and exploring poetry’s interactions with other media and art forms.

StAnza offers an invaluable platform to poets in Scotland and makes our poets and their poetry known to audiences from all round the world, giving them the opportunity of exposure to a greater readership. The context of a festival also provides international poets with a unique opportunity for them to present themselves to a far wider audience, and in a more high profile setting than many would otherwise have the chance of experiencing.
Solution
Each year we find new ways of enabling people to encounter poetry. Since it was founded in 1998, the festival has built up a loyal audience from poetry lovers, while reaching out to the public through a wide range of initiatives and innovatory projects inspiring communities, schools and visitors.
