    Situation

There is no acceptable medical facility in the village and surrounding area. The building they have is bat infested and quite disgusting. The next nearest facility is in Aklokou some 18 km away and that too is horrible! The nearest major facility is some 2 hours away. For this village and the surrounding area to survive, even prosper they need the basics including clean water which we have already supplied but they must have some decent health care. Illness and other similar problems are rife.

    Solution

Together with the villagers and there relations in the capital (Lome) we have a plan to completely refurbish the existing building and then supply all the basic equipment, drugs, fixtures and fittings they need. We are in touch with experts in remote medical facilities as well as suppliers etc. Again with the involvement of the villagers we are then going to train 2 or 3 people from the village in basic health care/nursing to provide the expertise required. We have the req'd contacts and skills
