    Situation

The activities of Xtrax are based in premises in Hastings which are operated as a drop in centre, which is open from 3 in the afternoon until 10 at night, the time when most young people are looking for the support they need, and can access a range of confidential services, have a nutritious meal, take a shower, make use of the free washing facilities, or just relax. Drug and alcohol misuse, self harm, poverty, housing and teenage pregnancy are just some of the major issues.

    Solution

Xtrax provides a range of projects that have been developed to meet the diverse needs of its client groups. Xtrax prides itself on ‘listening to’ its service users and adapting projects to make Xtrax ‘the place’ where young people feel comfortable, that is an enjoyable and social experience and that addresses the issues that are impacting detrimentally on their lives.
