Lack of local authority funding is restricting our ability to develop and expand the essential safety and educational services which we offer. This is putting citizens' lives at risk in the short-to-long term and, specifically, is stifling our medium-term project of being a key facility in the run-up to, and catylist in the safety and success of, the Commonwealth Games, 2014.

By launching a Public Appeal in the Autumn of 2010, we shall significantly increase our income, both current and future, which will enable us to increase (by only one or two) our complement of Officers, thereby enabling the Society to roll out our plans for the proper training of our volunteer corps, and education of the wider community.
