    Situation

Tender’s research has shown that violence in relationships is a pressing issue: 24% of young people know someone who has been sexually assaulted, while Home Office statistics indicate that young people are amongst the most likely to become victims of domestic violence. The project will respond to young people’s concerns about domestic violence, sexual bullying and abuse and will address a significant gap in the prevention of domestic and sexual violence throughout London.

    Solution

The project will recruit young volunteers to: Educate their peers about issues of violence and abuse in young people’s relationships through creative performances and resources Lobby decision makers for change in the education and youth sectors, to tackle the issues of unhealthy relationships and human rights abuses. There will also be opportunities for the young people volunteering to earn awards and the experience and knowledge that they gain will improve self-confidence and employability
