Situation

Extensive evidence shows that finding relevant help and advice from support services presents a significant barrier to young people overcoming their difficulties. In 2010, Get Connected’s ‘Connected Generation Report’ revealed that 25% of young people didn’t know where to get help for problems including sexual and financial issues. Nine out of ten had turned to the internet for help, with more than half feeling more worried afterwards as a result of the information they found online.

Solution

WebHelp 24/7, our online directory, provides reliable, moderated sources of information, signposting young people to trustworthy services which can help to improve their physical and emotional well-being, whether they are seeking shelter, advice, protection or information. Users can search for specific topics and types of support. The young person then has the option of additional emotional support from a helpline volunteer by switching to email, webchat or phone at any time during their search.
