Situation

The decline of Biodiversity across the UK and in particular habitat decline in the Thames Headwaters (e.g. semi-natural grassland declined by 97% in the 50 years following the Second world War and had continued to slowly decline).

Solution

The project will reverse the Biodiversity and habitat decline in the Thames headwaters area and provide a template for reversal of Biodiversity and habitat decline across the UK. A principle of 'net gain' will be followed for all 'Conservation Credit' funded environmental projects across the project area.
