We are trying to preserve the cells and DNA from endangered animals so that the information in their living tissues is saved for the future. This will probably allow future generations to resurrect species that have gone extinct.

Situation
Animal species are dying out at an unprecedented rate. The current round of extinctions is largely created by mankind, because of the increase in human populations and its effect on the planet’s ecosystems. Global warming is a major contributor to this destruction. Despite the best efforts of conservationists, thousands of extinctions are happening.
Solution
Samples are taken from captive breeding programmes, zoos and wild population. Cells are frozen and DNA is extracted and preserved. This protects the vital information that defines a species indefinitely.
