The premise behind the programme is that fun, family events and activities contribute to people's happiness and have posotive impact on their health. Also, human interaction provides a positive vehicle for engaging people in thinking about their families, communities and help build new connections between groups and individuals which can support wider processes of regeneration in all areas and in particular in quality of life and health.

Groundwork will generate games events and activities in communities across Nottinghamshire. This will be achieved by establishing a network of ‘community games coordinators’ employed by Groundwork who in turn will recruit ‘games ambassadors’ to support events and generate more activities. Activites will be put forward by local people and we will encourage individuals and families to employ their skills to engage others from all generations and backgrounds, partiocularly people with disabilities
