Situation

The number of children with disabilities has risen by 20% in 5 years and many young people end up lonely in a retirement home by their twenties. We need support to ensure we can reach more young people and give them opportunities to live a full and happy life. We have experienced a rise in demand for our services and require funding to upgrade our much-used hydrotherapy pool at our Ivybridge site whilst at the same time integrate sensory technology to maximise the sensory impact.

Solution

The Sensory Hydrotherapy Pool Project will offer increased therapeutic advantages to more young people with disabilities, helping to meet the rise in demand for our services. It will also offer an important outlet for communication and social interaction, helping to enhance feelings of self-confidence, self-worth and self-esteem. It will assist young people in reaching their full potential and improve their quality of life.
