In the UK today it is a sad truth that children born into the most socially disadvantaged areas face unequal chances of growing up to achieve positive and healthy outcomes in their lives. Despite significant investment over recent years on Peabody’s Pembury estate in Hackney there are still high levels of deprivation and residents face significant socio-economic challenges.

The Pembury Children's Community programme aims to break the link between disadvantage and poor life outcomes. The programme is an ambitious ten year partnership led by Peabody and the London Borough of Hackney (LBH) to tackle intergenerational child poverty. It works with families, schools and the wider community to ensure that every child receives joined up support at key stages throughout their childhood.
