    Situation

You are six times less likely to attend one of the UK's top universities if you are poor. Today, 15% of secondary school pupils in the UK receive free school meals yet only 2% of students at the top 25 universities received free school meals when they were at school.

    Solution

We support disadvantaged students by: • matching them with a volunteer tutor who meets the student for weekly tutorials to increase their grades • helping each student in a range of other ways - from university trips to one-to-one mentoring sessions - so that they have the ability and confidence to make a strong application to one of the UK's top universities.
