When disaster strikes, it strikes quickly. Response needs to match its speed and impact - Every Minute Counts. When a disaster strikes, the first thing responders need is situational information to aid their decision-making: - Which areas have been affected? - Where are the people in most urgent need? - Which routes are open to reach them? - Which areas are yet to be reached? MapAction provides information and mapping solutions to meet these needs.

Within hours of a disaster or humanitarian emergency, MapAction responds. Highly skilled professional GIS volunteers deploy to the field to support the humanitarian emergency response. MapAction’s ability to provide emergency information and mapping services to disasters around the world, usually within 48 hours, spearheads its unique service; ensuring humanitarian partners can remain focused on saving lives equipped with reliable information and maps.
