I have a right to play will give 450 children more play opportunities than they are currently able to access. The project will revamp the school's bare play area, creating a sports field, playground with climbing equipment, gardening area with sun shades with storage areas for sports equipment.

    Situation

Beis Malka is an independent girls school with a current student body of 450. Due to recent funding difficulties, its recreational facilities have fallen into a state of disrepair with only a bare yard available for the children to enjoy during break-time. Thus P.E and sports activities have lost their appeal to most students, with many opting out of the school's sports club. This has resulted in increased levels of obesity and unhealthy lifestyles for too many children negatively affecting them

    Solution

The play area will give children the opportunity to satisfy their need to play. The new and better facilities will attract more children and teenagers to take part in sports activities at the after school club and will encourage participation in the school's P.E classes. Thus we hope to engender improved attitudes towards sports and effect changes in the lifestyles of our students, so that their physical and emotional health is improved.
