Situation
Malnutrition can be a death sentence. 7.6 million children under five die every year; one third due to malnutrition. That’s 7,000 hunger-related child deaths every day. Malnutrition can also be a life sentence. A poor diet can cause stunting: impaired mental and physical development meaning children are unable to reach their potential in adulthood, and condemned to poverty. The world has enough food and enough knowledge to stop this. We just have to act.
Solution
We have developed expertise in designing & implementing large scale nutrition programmes. Today, we are working on hunger and malnutrition in more than 30 countries around the world. We reach millions of children directly through our programmes, and have a strong voice on the global stage to persuade others join our cause. We will use a combination of direct intervention on the ground together with our ability to influence governments around the world to address the scandal of malnutrition.
