Millions of children around the world live a life of unimaginable struggle. In the coming year, ChildHope aims to develop our existing international work and start three new programmes to protect over 60,000 vulnerable children from harm, prevent abuse, and support them to transform their future.

    Situation

Around the world too many children have no opportunity to enjoy a safe and secure childhood. Instead they are living on the streets or in slums, are subjected to abuse and exploitation, engaged in the worst forms of child labour, denied their rights, or put in prison. - 40,000 children in Uganda were diagnosed with HIV last year and there are 2.3 million orphans. - 96,000 children aged 10 - 14 are forced to work in the Gambia. - Over half of Bangladesh's children live in poverty.

    Solution

With 23 years' experience, ChildHope knows it does not have to be this way. Our effective programmes both ensure vulnerable children can meet their basic needs and are protected from harm and abuse, and take a long-term preventative approach that tackles the root causes of injustice. Working in ten countries through local partners who best understand the issues and the context, we aim to develop our existing work and start three vital new projects in Uganda, the Gambia, and Bangladesh.
