Chapter is home to many organisations working to support individuals with learning difficulties. Many simply use our Hires spaces for meetings but Chapter is keen to better integrate these individuals into wider activities in the Centre. Animation Autism offers us this opportunity. The people who participate find communication difficult and frustrating and, as a result, experience physical and spiritual isolation.
Animation Autism opens up a way of communicating using film as a means to do so. With support, participants will use reasoning and logic to approach ways of working and will look to explore and understand emotional responses, raise self-esteem and create a greater sense of confidence and responsibility. Teamwork, shared experience, collaborative thinking and sharing of ideas that this kind of project will stimulate will be a real and tangible immediate and on-going benefit.
