Beacon Bus is enables low vision advise and products to be taken to the heart of the community, enabling accessibility to a service that may not have been accessible previously. It raises awareness of sight loss & support not only to the individual but to their families and friends.

Deliver a reliable and flexible mobile advice and resource service; raise awareness of the available services and organisations that support those experiencing sight loss; mitigate acute care costs e.g. A&E admissions from falls, by identifying and providing appropriate support in a timely and cost effective way; Raise awareness of the issue of sight loss amongst at risk groups and in turn encourage better take up of preventative screening services


More people with sight loss across have access to & are advised on preventing and living with sight loss Evidence is collected that informs a potential business case for investment and need Uptake of health screening amongst most at risk groups is improved Beacon raises its profile and is able to attract more clients for its full range of services More families, friends and caring professionals have an understanding of the impact of sight loss & can better support their loved ones & clients
