We bought our building after a huge community fundraising campaign, we did it! Now we need to upgrade many areas to make it accessible , functional and a nice place to be. The toilet area is awful, we removed the old cubicles as this affects those with spatial awareness and we are left with 2 toilets and a sink in a room that smells. We cannot use portable hoists as the area has no space to manoeuvre so those with personal care needs are excluded from staying longer than 2 hours,.

A new all purpose wet room will provide a shower, high-low toilet and a high-low hand basin (for all ages and abilities) plus tracking and hoisting so that everyone can be supported to meet their personal care needs. This will extend time with their friends and provide the privacy and dignity needed quickly. Having this facility will enable more people to use the building and stay longer. This is a right everyone should have, we need the funds to make this happen!
