Women & Theatre

We make deep work about things that matter, reflecting the language and lives of ordinary people. We deal with sometimes difficult subject matter with warmth, sincerity and humour. We take our work to places where people meet, work and feel comfortable. To do this, we need a van.

A van is vital to the work we do as the majority of our work is in informal, non theatre spaces such as doctor’s surgeries, community centres, bingo halls, football stadia and bail hostels. We do not have the resources to buy a new vehicle outright and buying one on finance would add further to our running costs, forcing us to charge more for our performances. We want to remain as accessible as possible to as many people as possible by being mobile and affordable.

Our ethos is about working with people in the heart of their community, wherever they are. A van will enable us to take our popular programme of work that addresses a range of health and social issues to people and places all over the West Midlands and beyond. It will mean less resources spent on keeping our old vehicle running and more on making new work. It will enable us to continue to develop and deliver high quality new theatre to new and hard to reach audiences.
