In Myanmar, there is almost no care for physically or mentally disabled children. Impoverished families do not have the money or resources to care for their children, who are often left at home uncared for as their parents and siblings have to leave them at home while they go out to work. These families simply cannot afford to stay at home and care for them. As a result, these children's conditions deteriorate, they have no hope for the future and in some cases, they die prematurely.
The centre will provide a safe environment in which children will receive specialist care. Special needs teachers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and a nurse will provide tailor-made education for each child, according to their disability. This will better enable them to have independence and live their lives as fully as possible and provide them with the possibility of a better future.
