Deprivation and isolation in the local community faced by elderly and disabled people and those suffering from dementia. On their giving little and often page Age UK states that "feelings of loneliness can turn to depression" and this is reflected in the feedback that we have received from our members on the value of our project: “I don’t get out at all on any other day; this place is a life line for me.” “I am so glad I have somewhere to go for the day as I would be so lonely and depressed”.

Through our provision of an affordable and accessible day centre for vulnerable and isolated elderly people from Lewisham and Greenwich. This will include a healthy lunch in a communal setting, activities such as chair-based exercises, bingo and musical entertainment which provide opportunities for social interaction. Outings, providing stimulation and a change of scenery are also available. We also provide learning and training opportunities for unemployed volunteers across the two boroughs.
